Maize and High Nutrient Demand Crops

Grown on a dairy farm, maize is a high yielding fodder crop.

There is the potential to grow over 15ton of dry matter per hectare dry land or 25+ ton per hectare with irrigation.

The Camperdown Compost Company has been working with agronomist, Jade Killoran from Healthy Farming Systems and dairy customers growing maize to improve results.

The high nutrient load of the compost is an important part of this program, helping maintain growth for this particularly high nutrient demand crop.
